Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh of 22 Sikh Regiment and Head Constable Prem Sagar of the 200th Battalion of the BSF have made the supreme sacrifice while defending their motherland. The animals of the Pakistani army then went on to do the most dastardly thing, much against the existing conventions of behaviour at the battlefield, by decapitating the fallen soldiers!
The sequence of events went something like this:-
* An intelligence report had said that the Pakistani troops had planted landmines on the Indian
side of the LoC.
* A joint team of the Indian Army and the BSF, consisting of 7-8 members was deployed to check
the veracity of that report.
* The patrol team might have walked into a death trap.
* The incident had happened in the Krishna Ghati sector, along the LoC, in Jammu and Kashmir.
* As they're looking for the landmines, they're taken by surprise by the 'Pakistani Border Action
Team', which had laid an ambush over 250 mts deep inside Indian territory.
* In the meanwhile, Pakistani troops attacked two forward posts with rockets and mortar bombs
elsewhere. A diversionary tactic, perhaps?
* The patrol, too, had come under a fusillade of gunfire, resulting in the death of the two soldiers.
The Pakistani team, then, had quickly moved in and beheaded the two fallen soldiers.
The Army has been given a free hand to respond to the Pakistani aggression!
RIP, Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh and Head Constable Prem Sagar! Your sacrifice shall not go in vain. My salutes and prayers to you and here's wishing that your near and dear ones have the strength to tide over these difficult times.
Tailpiece.
It's May day and hence, there shall be no newspapers tomorrow morning, which is a dampener! Nothing like the newspaper, with a hot cup of tea!!
