My younger brother-in-law and Mini’s husband, PG Sanil Kumar passed into the mist of time this evening around a half past seven. He was in the transplant ICU of the KIMS Hospital, plugged on to a ventilator, since 26 Mar after he’d spat blood that lowered his haemoglobin and albumin. He was suffering from cirrhosis of the liver.
He was the VP and the HoD, Mathematics at the Padmakshi Seshadri Public School, Bangalore at the time of his retirement two years back. A Mathematics-teacher-par-excellence, he was respected and loved by his students for his professional acumen and teaching ability. His diverse knowledge in any topic was phenomenal, as he did a lot of reading.
He’s the eldest of three sons of the late Gangadharan Pillai and Padmavathy Amma, both excellent teachers. The former retired as the Principal of his school while the latter retired as the DEO.
Mini and Sanil have a daughter, Shamily aka Ammu. She was keen to donate a part of her liver to her dad but he was not in a condition to undergo the surgery.
Om Shanti! Sadgati.
