1. Chandrayaan-2 Is In Orbit.
After a week's delay, the nation's robotic Chandrayaan-2 mission was launched today, from the
Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 1443 hrs local time. The huge GSLV Mk III rocket placed the
Chandrayaan-2 at a geosynchronous orbit around the earth, later. Further time frames go like
what's shown below:-
22 Jul The launch.
13 Aug Trans lunar injection begins.
20 Aug Enters lunar atmosphere.
02 Sep The lander separates from the orbiter.
03 Sep The lander reaches within 30 km of the moon.
07 Sep The lander lands at the south pole of the moon.
A great moment for India's space efforts. I shall follow the mission from now on to its
successful end. Proud to be an Indian because this entire mission is of Indian origin!
2. Pakistan Gets The Snub.
Pakistan is very much in the bad books of Trump's United States. It's because the Americans
firmly believe and understand, that Pakistan has two timed the US in the war against terror.
President Trump had made this very clear much earlier itself. But the Asian nation is desperately
in need of money, military hardware and ammunition and therefore, its PM is in the US with a
begging bowl.
The ceremonial reception that a head of state is entitled to was given the short shrift by the US
and Imran Khan was received by his own Foreign Minister on his arrival at Washington DC
yesterday!
And today, he tried to emulate PM Narendra Modi by programming an interaction with the
Pakistani diaspora settled there. The crowd, I'm told, was very, very less!
3. The Drama Continues.
The cheap drama continues in the Karnataka Assembly. The Speaker held discussions with the
opposition leaders, the leaders of the ruling combine of the JD(S) and the Congress along with
the chief minister, as I write this, but the stalemate continues. HD Kumaraswamy wants the floor
test to be taken on Wednesday while the Speaker is adamant that it should take place today itself!
Those guys are making asses of themselves under the watchful eyes of the media cameras as the
session is being telecast live. They don't seem to be bothered about their own dignity nor are they
bothered about the House's stature.
Wonder what they are putting across to the younger generation in terms of dignity and decent
behaviour?
Tailpiece.
Today was yet another wet day. The PCI representative had come by to renew the AMC while my CA's representative had come by to collect the documents towards filing my ITR.
