Afghanistan
We must remember that no insurgency - the most violent - can take over a country without people's support. The Afghans have had to chose sides. And more Afghans have chosen to side with the Taliban than have chosen the American occupiers......Not all of them, just more of them.
More Afghans have chosen to side with the Taliban than with the Afghan government of former President Ashraf Ghani. Again not all of them but more supported the Taliban.
And more Afghans have chosen to side wit the Taliban than with the old warlords. The defeat of Dostum and Ismail Khan in Herat is evidence of that.
The internal Taliban jockeying for power and anti-Taliban resistance is part of Afghan culture and history. Taliban needs money, they need to reconcile with hostile groups to govern or else they lose, possibly forever.
Give Afghanistan six months. Let the Afghanis sort it out.
The US and UK have started their dirty tricks. Too many and that too, multi-domain. Their egos will now ensure that they neither provide money or basics necessary for Taliban to stabilize. Biden has agreed, as part of the deal, as long as Afghanistan is not used for training groups or action.
Pakistan will run with the hare and hunt with the hounds. China, quietly, will strengthen its economic and political clout in Afghanistan. India despite ourselves have always managed to hold onto our interests.

An Officer
An officer should be able to heal a wound, plan an expedition, order from a French menu, climb a mountain face, enjoy a ballet, balance accounts, roll a kayak, embolden a friend, tell a joke, laugh at himself, cooperate, act alone, sing a children's song, solve equations, throw a dog a stick, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, love heartily, fight efficiently and die gallantly.

In Perpetuity
Ramayana and Mahabharata come under 'itihasa' and are not mythology or myths as branded by foreigners and Indian secular historians.
To preserve this itihasa, our ancestorsmade great efforts by carving it upon temple pillars and walls so that even after thousands of years the future generations will remember those incidents and pass it on to future generations.
