Another perspective!

Most of you don't remember my comment on the change of Indian petroleum minister last year. I am sure most of you understand why a career diplomat Hardeep Singh Puri was given the charge. The reason is the changing balance of oil and gas in the 21st century.

What Russia is today, West Asia was 50 years back. That's the crux of the Ukraine-Russia crisis.

99.99% of social media and media intellectuals are looking at military operations as an invasion by Russia to capture Ukraine or part of it which speaks Russian. Some even went to 'Akhand Russia' but none of it is right.

The current military operation will be over in the next 48 to 56 hours. So the question that arises : What will Russia achieve?

After this operation, Russia will be the undisputed global king of the North Pole and the Arctic. Hence out of oil, pharma, and arms, Russia will control arms and oil, the only two industries Russia has.

The Ukraine - Russia crisis is all about trillions of dollars worth of natural resources in the Arctic. With the current military operations, Russia will dismantle the US and European claim on Arctic resources ie. oil and gas for the future. If anyone thinks that Putin was in India for 6 hours to sell S400, I will say "grow up". Modi, in all probability, is aware of what was coming as Putin might have told him that during his visit.

So the question is, What is China doing in it with Russia?

China is the biggest consumer of oil and gas in the world. To fuel its dream of a global manufacturing hub, it needs oil and gas as West Asia is drying up.

The other reason is that China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project is screwed up completely. It is looking for a secure alternative route which is the North Sea. This route is almost half of the current route.

These are the seeds of Ukraine - Russian crisis. After this crisis, US and NATO will bite the dust. UN anyway is useless.

Last point which no one talks about. What is US' interest in Ukraine, apart from NATO and Russian military manufacturing knowhow?

US has hidden biolabs in Ukraine which is financed by the US Department of Defense. Now Russian forces have breached all biolabs operated by the US.

Now tell me : Strategically, whom should India support?

Remember, Modi is a businessman and geopolitics is all about business.

Hope you now understand why a career diplomat was made Indian Petroleum Minister?

Woke up at 4, the chores and was ready by a half past 5. Sajish was at our gate on the dot. Pulled out some money from the ATM and kicked off our journey through Thrissur. Breakfast was around a 10' past 7 at the Anand Bhavan, where Lekha and I shared a combo and filter coffee. We, incidentally, were the first set of guests!

We reached Mallan's Dental Clinic 5' before a half past 9. Lekha's dentures were set and we'd come to the end of the 6 month process!

Reached The Quarterdeck by 5. Kittu was waiting for us and Lekha had given him his feed, soon after.
