Classmate's mother murders 13-yr-old school student for outperforming her daughter. The accused said she bought laxative pills from a country drugs store, mixed them in soft soft drinks and gave them to the boy through the school's watchman.
A 13-year-old boy died in Karaikal on Saturday after his classmate's mother allegedly spiked soft drinks with laxatives as she did not want the boy to outperform her daughter at school. This was to stop the boy from participating in the school annual day events.
The victim, a class VIII student of a private school in Karaikal was the class topper and he was also good at extracurricular activities. On Friday, when the boy was to perform in the school annual day events, the woman - 42 year-old J Sahayarani - introduced herself as the boy's mother to the school watchman and gave him a few bottles of soft drinks to be given to the boy.
After consuming the drink, the boy felt uneasy. When the boy started vomiting, his parents rushed him to the Karaikal General Hospital where he was admitted. The doctors said that the boy was ill due to food poisoning.
The boy's health condition, which was initially better, worsened and he died at the hospital around 2245 hrs on Saturday.

What a perverse way of sorting out one's child's inadequacies? The killer mother needs to be punished for her inexcusable behaviour!
