The Gaya trip shortened!

The train had reached Varanasi in the wee hours of the morning and then it got stuck because of a technical snag. It had to be taken to the yard for repairs to be effected.

We left for Gaya by a half past 1 and reached there by a half past 5. After a quick freshening up, we went by autorickshaws to the ancient Vishnu Dham temple (2,000 years’ vintage!) and offered the ‘bali tharpanam’ for the departed.

There was no time left for our scheduled outing to Bodh Gaya (sob! sob!). And to make matters worse, the train came late for our return to Varanasi!

Finished dinner by midnight!
