Last night, Mithun had called up to say that Sanil had spat a lot of blood early in the morning, was in acute discomfort and shifted to the ICU of KIMS. He further remarked that the doctor has said that the next six hours were extremely critical because of the following :-
- Sanil's BP was low, the diastolic was hovering around 44.
- The bleeding wasn't stopping and the cause was unknown and
- There was an infection.
Lekha had chided me for returning to Guruvayur: in fact, she'd suggested to me that we went across to Rema's house at Thrippunithura and gone back to Tvpm, if and when we were required there! And because of that, felt guilty all through the day till I saw Sanil at the Transplant ICU and saw him breathing softly around 5 in the evening. Liji, the attending nurse, briefed me about Sanil's state.
We left soon after for Kottarakkara in a low floor a/c bus, reached by a quarter to 10. Rema and Padmakumar left for Pidavoor soon after.
Tailpiece
Reached Raj Nivas, dumped our luggage there and continued southward to Tvpm and reached Mini by a 10' past 4. Phew!
