How to detect a deepfake.

Look at the video carefully for telltale signs

Eyes sometimes don't blink or blink too much, lip movement that doesn't sync with words, an unnatural shadow on the face or under the eyes.

Unusual movement of hands and feet

Check to see if the movement of the body seems incongruous to the face, compare body movements to facial expressions.

Focus on details

Details are a weak point for deepfake software. Look for unrealistic facial hair, overly smooth or wrinkled skin, unnatural lip colour, etc.

The deepfakes in demand

* AI-powered audio calls

   Simulating the voice of a politician using AI to deliver personalised response in the voter's preferred
   language.

* AI digital avatar

   Generates content where a politician (dead or living) addresses multiple audiences at the same time
   with customised messaging in various languages

* Holobox

   A digital avatar is created, allowing the AI politician to interact with the audience (party workers or
   voters) in a conversational style. This is more realistic than a hologram.

My take

The fall out on the advent of Artificial Intelligence!

Tailpiece.

Got up around 5, the chores and was ready by 7. We went off to Poojappura for the floral-tributes to Muthachhan at a half past 8. Pannian led us.

At a half past 10, the next sequel was inaugurated by minister Roshi Agustin. It was well attended followed by lunch and an entertainment program.

The final event began at 4 PM which was inaugurated by minister Kadannappalli Ramachandran. He sang a song, too, on request. Very sweet of him!
