Got up at 6, Kamalasanan Pillai sir made black tea for the three of us and it was more than enough. Went through the chores and was ready by 8. Maman had come to the Foundation; everyone left for the Kanakakkunnu Palace while I went to pick up Dr VM Rajasekharan Pillai and Shri Yashvir Singh from their hotel.

Maman was made to keep his speech short. The chief minister was late by an hour, he was quite jovial and spoke for about a half an hour.

The sessions began one by one, beginning with Shaddy’s. Vijayakumar sir conducted the sessions well. 

Lunch was ‘sadya’ and it was good. 

The afternoon sessions went off well and it ended by 7.  The first day of the international conference went off damn well. 

Manakkaala Gopalakrishnan and party’s rendition of Carnatic Music, subsequent to that was heavenly.

A quick bite of dinner and I went dropping the guests and to h/o dinner to another. 

Slept at a half past 10.
