On 28 May, a 17-year-old girl, who was returning from a non-alcoholic party at a pub in the city was gang-raped in a moving car by a group of youngsters in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. She was offered lift by the miscreants who then drove the car to an isolated spot and raped her in turns.
Three among five suspects - out of which three are juvenile - have been nabbed by the police. 18-year old Saduddin Malik and two juveniles have, thus far, been arrested and the juveniles have been handed over to the Juvenile Board. The involvement of a Waqf Board official's son and an MLA's son is doing the rounds.
My take
A crime has been committed in the heart of the city of Hyderabad that boasts of the best facilities available for crime investigation and its police are still finding it difficult to nab the perpetrators of the crime. Isn't it shameful? Or is it that the police is giving the Waqf Board Official and the MLA time to arrive at a decision that would exonerate their children off the crime?
What sort of Law & Order enforcement is this? What are the privileges for the VIPs that are denied to the common man?
I'd like to ask the collective lot of politician-government official-police, "Would you've been so lackadaisical in your approach to the investigation of such a crime, if one of your own was the victim?"
Definite results are expected without further delay!
I sincerely hope that the victim is looked after well as she gets over her trauma and is safeguarded from further treachery and hoodwinking! God, do take care of her!!
Tailpiece.
Got up at 6, the chores and was ready by 10.
Lekha and her sister had gone to the Mammiyoor Siva kshetram and had shopped for grocery and fruit basket, subsequent to that.
Ramesh and Pranav had come to set the courtyard and the backyard right. The creeper on the compound wall was trimmed, the lawn grass was clipped and weed removed.
