To live a happy retired life.

 1. Do not stay with your married children. Stay near to them or as a neighbour. Give freedom to them and take your freedom. Do not give suggestions unless asked.

 2. Love more than ever, your spouse. Talk pleasantly. As far as possible travel jointly.

 3. Have regular health check ups. Do not hesitate to spend on this subject.

 4. Look after your wealth. See that it does not go out of your hands. Beware of deceivers. Usually they are known to you. Do not get duped by high interest rates of a new bank.

 5. Give gifts to children, grandchildren and relatives on every event however small it is.

 6. Keep telephonic contact with all your well wishers.

 7. You may begin to forget names and events. Maintain a diary.

 8. If you are male shave daily. Dress well when you go out.

 9. Keep in touch with your family doctor.

10. Do not eat or drink when you are outside. Avoid hotels.

11. Have a good alarm system in your house. Keep a walking stick, a torch, a whistle and fore crackers in the house for emergency.

12. Be careful about your domestic helps. They should not see your wealth.

13. Always make nominations for your bank and other accounts.

14. Acquaint the wife about the savings and investments and how to handle financial matters.

15. Acquaint the husband with household matters and their management.

16. If the children are living far then keep a possibility of stay in an old age home, identify one and keep it as a standby in the mind.

17. Make a will even if your belongings are meagre.

18. Be alive to the joys of living.

Tailpiece.

Got up a trifle late, the chores and was ready by a half past 9. Earlier, carried out the Wednesday 'aarathi' of the house.

To Preethi's stationery shop to have certain documents xeroxed, put them into a sealed cover and sent the packet to LIC, Kottarakkara towards receiving a matured policy amount. The new branch post mistress is Saranya. She has said that she'll call on us shortly.

A quiet day, thereafter. Today, Kittu had come by only in the morning. Wonder why?
