3. Details - An operation was launched in General Area Solki, Kalakot
based on a specific intelligence of presence of terrorists in
the area. Own troops were fired upon by terrorists on 22
Nov at 0900 hrs while the search was in progress.

* Capt Shubham - 9 Para (SF). Body evacuated.
* Hav Majid - 9 Para (SF). Body evacuated.
Non-fatal Casualties
* Maj Mehra, 9 Para (SF) evacuated to CH, Udhampur, stable (imjury in
arm and chest)

My salutes, prayers and tears for the brave hearts.
History
60 years back, on this date, around 10' past 1000 hrs, the then US President John F Kennedy was shot
dead at Dallas, Texas as he was moving in an open limousine. His wife, Jacqueline Kennedy, was beside him at that moment. The dastardly act reverberated everywhere, plunging the world into sadness.
I remember this date because I was supposed to collect my TC from the Naval Primary School at Colaba, Bombay and the school was closed as a mark of respect to the slain leader.
