Why does God make good people suffer?

No, God neither gives suffering nor joy to anyone. These are the creations of one's own karma. God only delivers the result.

Let us take the case of Bhishma. Why did he get the boon of 'ichha mrityu'?

He was a devotee and a mahatma. Then why did he have to suffer on the bed of arrows for 50 days?

The answer for both is the same. To atone for the sins in this life itself. For Bhishma there was the prarabda which had to be exhausted. He had to delay his death till it was exhausted. Bhishma being wise, welcomed it.

Even good people come into this world with prarabda. It has nothing to do with the present goodness.

If one becomes wise, he does not lament the suffering. He takes both happiness and sorrow in the same stride. For him the delay is only till the prarabda lasts.

That explains why even saints like, Ramana maharishi suffered cancer.

Only God, as incarnation, suffer no bodily ailment, for he has no prarabda. So, we see Rama and Krishna willingly giving up bodies.

Tailpiece.

Got up at 6, the chores and was ready by a half past 8. Achu ferried us to Hareendra Babu's clinic. He was late, we met him and he'd ordered for cbc and crp tests.

We, then, went to Pidavoor to drop Padmakumar and Rema, collected our washed clothes and went to the More outlet to collect grocery.

Met the doctor again for the prognosis and medicines.

And we returned to Anjanam.

A quiet day, subsequently.
