Columbus Has Become Not Wanted
So, what's wrong with Columbus?
Columbus, long hailed by school textbooks as the so-called discoverer of "The New World", is considered by many to have spurred years of genocide against indigenous groups in the Americas.
1937
Dozens of American cities have over the years replaced "Columbus Day" in October - which had become a federal holiday in 1937 - with a day of tribute to indigenous peoples.

South Korea's Success Story Threatened
Just weeks ago, South Korea was celebrating its hard-won gains against the corona virus, easing social distancing, reopening schools and promoting a tech-driven anti-virus campaign President Moon Jae-in has called "K-quarantine".
* 45 new cases on Thursday, a daily rise that has been fairly consistent since late May.
* The majority of the new cases are linked to nightclubs and other entertainment venues. At least
146 cases are linked to warehouse workers, while more than 90 infections have been traced to
churches near Seoul.
* The recent virus clusters have popped up just about everywhere around the capital. Transmissions
are quicker, unpredictable and contact tracing is more difficult.
* Majority of South Korea's cases in Feb and Mar were concentrated in a single church congregation
in Daegu and they were easier to track.
My take.
Do we, in India, need to take note of South Korea's experiences as we go through the unlocking procedures with rising cases everyday? Yes, we should!
Tailpiece.
Got up on the dot, the chores and was ready by a half past 9. Suma comes by at her usual time and Seena comes by a half past 10 at Lekha's behest.
