Through two incidents in Bengal and Kerala.

1. Massacre in Rampurhat

Violence was unleashed at Rampurhat in the Birbhum district of West Bengal in the night of 21 - 22 Mar. The police claim that 7 people were burnt to death that included children and young women but the actual story says that the deaths have been much more as gleaned from the eye witnesses. It was a case of revenge between two groups of the TMC.

The area has a predominant Muslim population. The sad part of the story is that the police, despite being reported by the victims and the affected, failed to act and provide timely needed succour - a sure case of dereliction to duty. Sad! After all Mamata Banerjee's police!!

Media has been deafening by their silence. Have they lost the stomach to investigate and report to the public about the gross injustice that is being meted out? Or do they feel that it would be advantage-BJP, if they tell the truth, because the TMC are evidently the culprits!

Sad that such gross injustice is taking place right in our backyard and one is helpless and unable to do anything against it!

2. Judge acts truant

Palakkad District Judge Kalam Pasha stoked a massive controversy after forcing renowned Mohiniyattam dancer Dr Neena Prasad to stop performing at an event organised at the Government Moyan LP School, Palakkad last Saturday evening.

Pasha, who resides near the school, claimed that Neena Prasad's show, which was scheduled to be held around 2030 hrs on that day was a nuisance to him and forced the organisers to stop the show. The police stormed the venue based on the orders of the judge and stopped the hour-long performance titled 'Sakhyam' that portrayed the strains in the relations between Krishna and Arjuna midway. The senior artiste and her team were humiliated on the stage and were left in tears.

A distraught Neena Prasad said, "This was the bitterest experience of my dance career. It was a humiliating experience not only for me but also for the fellow artistes who mounted the stage with high hopes after more than two years of hibernation".

The show was organised by the Sekharipuram Grandhasala, where the book 'Ithihasangale Thedi' by MJ Sreechitran, was also released.

A case of sheer high-handedness on the part of the judge.

Tailpiece.

Got up at a trifle past 6, the chores and was ready by 10. Earlier, had carried out the 'aarathi' of the house.

The LPG delivery boys had come by at 11 AM and changed the truant cylinder which had a broken washer within its neck. The early work in the kitchen, including breakfast, was undertaken on the induction cooker.

Helped Lekha in watering the plants - yes, the municipality water has been flowing regularly.
