Dateline 17 Feb
Last evening Lekha and I'd arrived at Jaipur by 1730 hrs. We were taken to Hotel Glitz for the night stay. From the airport to the hotel, we were dropped by a hired car and were deposited at the Hotel Glitz by a half past 6. Our room was 201 and it was a comfortable stay. RK Singh and Usha were our neighbours. We were entertained by Varsha and Priya with their superb dances and Digambar, along with Inani, gave us a rendition of "Damadam mast Kalandar" that was immortalised by Runa Laila, of Bangladesh, during the late '70s. It was a lovely start to our first evening at Jaipur.
Had got up at 7, the chores and was ready by 9. Met a few more of our course mates at the breakfast table. We, then, went on a 'fatfatiya' to Hotel Raj Palace for the next three days. It was a grand welcome there and we were allotted Room 215. Boy, it was real royal in every sense!
Met every one and it was mehndi time for the ladies while we'd a beer at Kul's room. The lunch was simple but great. Returned to the room by a quarter past 3, had an afternoon snooze.
Most of our course mates had fetched up by then and it was great to catch up with them. Had a short walk for the evening with Jags, Virmani, Bala.
The evening was full of music and fun.
Nadiyum and his treatment was nice!
PS.
A few says ago, it needed to be a deep breath taking kin in order that I needed to be part of it. By 1987, we took Sebastian, with a number of the press AND HDY .
