At the Chaitanya Eye Hospital.

Got up at a quarter to 7, the chores and was ready by 9. Reached the Foundation by a half past 10. The office house maid, Girija made us a hot cup of tea and after having it, we went across to the Chaithanya Eye Hospital at Kesavadasapuram for Maman’s review on the optic nerve inflammation.

He went through a battery of tests, saw three doctors but Gemini Issac impressed me a lot. I told her my reasons too and wasn’t she thrilled? Her sterling qualities were :-

     * extremely knowledgeable
     * totally focused on her patients and
     * excellent bedside manners.

Blessed her from my heart and we’ve invited her for one of our sessions of ‘Aazhchakkoottam’ during the first week of August.

Carried out an inspection of the Institution of Engineers Hall where the three-day children’s books exhibition organised by the PN Panicker Foundation and the National Book Trust will be inaugurated tomorrow morning by a half past 8. Maman took a tumble and got a deep gash above his left eyebrow. A quick trip to Jubilee Mission hospital where three stitches were put by Dr Joshua at the Casualty. A sad setback when we'd got tidings from the Chaithanya Hospital, regarding the recovery of his left eye, earlier in the day.

Tailpiece.

Hit the sack by a half past 11.
