Got up at 4, went through the chores and were ready by a half past 6. Kannan, our sa'arthi for the day, came around that time and we took off for Varkala soon after. Turned off westward at Chadayamangalam. Breakfast was at Varkala but after easing ourselves at a petrol bunk!
By the time we reached the beach, the Trivandrum crowd had arrived.
Indirakutty had mingled with the five elements after a half past 9 with Sabu, her son-in-law, tipping the earthenware urn containing her ashes backward, into the waters of the Arabian Sea.
We broke off from there, dropped Aniyan at the Kottarakkara KSRTC bus stand as he was on his way to Kidangoor.
Reached Raj Nivas by 12, Rema cleaned up Appooppan's room and we lit up all the disposable stuff! Meanwhile, our caretaker brought down tender coconuts and we feasted on the water and the inner eatable layers!
Lunch of lemon rice by Rema which was super.
Siesta.
Aniyan had reached Kidangoor by a half past 4.
Rema had made 'oattada' along with the evening cuppa.
