Awaiting the counting of votes and the election results.

1. It Has Been A Long Wait!

It's one more day left for the election results to be announced. Yes, it has been a long wait and the
summer heat has been stifling. The candidates have - Suresh Gopi(BJP), TN Prathapan(UDF) and
Rajaji Mathew Thomas(LDF) - have arrived at Thrissur to be available in their constituency at
    counting time.

Am sure that the candidates must be more anxious, than us, to hear about the outcome.

2. The EVM Imbroglio Is On.

To the opposition's demand of 100% counting of the VVPAT slips in every constituency, the
EC has said a 'nyet' because of the simple fact of the consequent delays that would befall in
declaring the results. The 21 parties continue to be edgy over the issue. The question that arises
here is what happens to their charges if they were to win instead? Or have they reconciled to the
results according to the exit polls?

To my mind they have made a tactical blunder by blaming the EVMs at this stage!

3. Pranab Mukherji Has Suddenly Become Concerned.

Of all the people, former President Pranab Mukherji has got worried about the EVM issue and
has issued a statement to that effect. It means that he's unhappy if the results were to conform to
the exit poll predictions. What has happened? He was favourably inclined towards Modi and
very obliged by the Bharat Ratna conferred on him.

Has his animosity risen from the fact that his daughter was denied a BJP ticket in Delhi?

Tailpiece.

Had got up earlier than usual, gone through the chores and were ready well in time. Today, Annie has taken a day off for her church-related activities and therefore, Lekha will have to bear the brunt as Vrinda and their children will be with us for the entire day.

Had gone to the Chavakad Library around 11 and took part in the book presentation ceremony. Exchanged with them a few memories of my grandfather and after the meeting quite a few people made it a point to talk to me and take selfies with me!

Vrinda, Nandu, Achu and Thumbi were at home and we'd a boisterous lunch together. Then, it was conversation time. It was a laid back day! Sarala kunjamma is well and Unni kochachhan is okay, though weak.
