A round up of sorts!

Today, I'm visiting a couple of news bytes that have clearly astounded me in the sheer manner of their happening, the double standards followed by certain people in their continuing endeavour to show Prime Minister Modi and his government's actions in bad light. The fact that amazes me is that instead of joining hands with the government, in these troubled times, they criticise each and every move of the government without giving an alternative - thereby, exposing their real intentions.

Are they in the mistaken idea of coming back to power, by putting obstacles, along with the section of media who seem to be their stooges?

 (a) Arnab Goswami And His Wife Targeted.

Arnab over the past week, has been highlighting the Palghar lynching of three people, out of
which two were Hindu monks. The incident took place on 16 Apr and to this date, none of the
three parties viz. the Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress who rule Maharashtra have uttered
a word against the gruesome incident (If it had been from the minorities, these parties would
have been the first to take off the blocks to highlight 'Hindu hot headedness') and Arnab has
gone hanger and tongs at Sonia Gandhi, to react to the incident.

Instead, a few goons of the Youth Congress had waylaid the journalist and his wife a few nights
back, to teach 'him a lesson'! His subsequent visit to the police station resulted in an FIR being
raised by the police - completely diluting the charges without a hint of the Youth Congress
workers being the culprits - that too, after a wait of 10 hrs! Serves Udhav Thackeray right for
wanting to come to power at any cost and is reduced to a puppet...wonder how he would face the
electorate, next, after all these lapses? The youth Congress workers from the states ruled by the
Congress had filed about 2,000 cases against the journalist in various courts across the country
and the usual sycophants celebrated the assault on the journalist through their twitter accounts
       giving away the party's involvement!

The final slap on the face of the Congress was given by the Supreme Court when it ordered
Arnab Goswami to continue with his work, assuring that there would be no interference!!

I like him because he's a spirited Bengali and a hard nosed journalist!

 (b) Mamata Banerjee's Antics.

Wonder what's wrong with this lady? Has she lost it as she seems to be fairly sure of losing the
Assembly elections, 10 months from now? Why is she not co-operating with the medical team
sent by the central government to take stock of the Covid situation in her state? She has given
a lot of concessions to the Muslim community during the lock down and it's estimated that the
actual situation on the ground regarding the number of cases on account of the illness, has been
       masked!

In other words, playing politics and trying to influence the vote bank for her benefit, for an
       activity, 10 months from now!!

A sorry state of affairs! Instead of standing together as one, during this grave crisis, guys are up to tricks to dilute the efforts of the government and thereby, put it in bad light to the rest of the world. And what amazes me is that there are a lot of people in the foreign media, trying to find faults with India's efforts, while closing their eyes on their own country's faults in dealing with the pandemic.

Tailpiece.

Got up a trifle late, the chores and was in time for Sajish, from Amigos, for hair cut after almost two months! Felt light, after his efforts. Suma left the house, after completing her work, by 1800 hrs. The day continued to be sizzling as the previous ones, without any respite!
