At Sidhi Kedar.

It was a dull day with the sun hiding most of the time behind dark ominous clouds though nothing much came out of it. There were a couple of showers during the forenoon. We finished our packing by 12 and I still find that I've missed out on taking our caps but these are vagaries that one must cater for. Anyways, such lapses give you a lot to laugh later.

Kittu came for his morning food but I'd accidentally dropped the serving spoon near him and he'd taken off with a fright - wonder what sort of a cat is he? It seems that he has not got used to us as yet. I'd to go to the porch to feed him, while systematically shutting down The Quarterdeck along with it. He didn't fetch up for his afternoon grub.

We set off by about a half past 1, hit the petrol bunk next door, topped up the Chevy with fuel, checked tyre pressure and we were off on our journey. The weather was nice, the traffic was manageable and even the Paliyekkara toll gate did not hold us even for a minute! We passed through occasional showers, had our first break at the petrol pump soon after Muringoor.

The tea break was at Ananda Bhavan at Chalakkudi, a place that has been our favourite but during our last three visits, it was closed. Today it had a spanking new look with every piece of furniture gleaming. The proprietor came and had a chat with us. The vadas were crisp and the filter coffee was good; and Lekha preferred tea.

Achu, Karthika and Rema had already arrived at Sidhi Kedar and once I'd turned the Chevy towards Thrippunithura Pettah, Achu had come by and guided me to his flat. It was a nice homecoming and that too after a long time. And of course, yakkitiyak was on.

Saw the maha episode of the Malayalam serial, 'Kudumbavilakku', went about our work and had our supper at our usual time. Finished up the day's work and called it a day because tomorrow is gonna be a long day.

Tailpiece.

Anian had called. Wished Malu and Rajish many happy returns as it was their wedding anniversary today. Remember their wedding when my mom was very active!
