Back to Guruvayur.

The day had begun at a half past 6, when Maman woke me up. After a quick wash, along with Bijumon sir and Ajith, we'd gone across to the Ernakulam Junction Railway Station for the early morning cuppa tea and the day's newspapers. It was a nice morning walk with me in my pajamas and Tee. The people who saw - were they bothered? - must have thought me to be a Bengali guy who has migrated to the state for work!

The grooming was done leisurely and it was a half past 10 when we'd breakfast of dosas, chutney and sambar washed down with filter coffee. We, dropped in at the Chavara Cultural Centre, interacted with Reverend Father Reji Thomas, Jolly and Sakhiya. The library-cum-minor auditorium has been very aesthetically done and we were given a blanket approval to conduct our meetings in the coming times. Damn sweet of the Revend Father!

We, then, went across to the Khadi Bhavan where we're warmly welcomed by Mr Bharne, the Manager while our items were being packed and loaded into our car. Maman and I'd, thereafter, dropped in at my cousin's chamber to pick up some legal papers where we met up with a chirpy couple who were children of ex-Naval officers. They've promised to join our Foundation and help us with our work.

We were off to Mararikkulam, the venue of the Alappuzha District Meeting of the Foundation. Enroute we'd lunch at an Indian Coffee House outlet. By 3, we were hooked on to the 567th episode of the Aazhchakkoottam : "Development with Youth Power" by Shri VK Sanoj, State Secretary, DYFI, Kerala from 1500 - 1615 hrs. It was an interesting interaction with personal political affiliations did crop up but brought under control with ease. In the meantime, we'd reached the venue and the District Meeting could begin without any holdups.

Our Alappuzha co-ordinator, Prathapan had done his spadework well and we'd a crowd of about a hundred and fifty participants. The district committee of the PN Panicker Foundation was drawn up and we proceeded to the northern tip of the famed Punnamada Lake, where the Nehru Boat Race ends. Met up with Tony, a business magnate and the owner of a number of house boats. After a brief interaction, I got dropped at the Alappuzha bus stand where I could board a KSRTC low floor a/c bus and could reach Ernakulam by 9.

After a quick visit to the rest room - the woman conductor was gracious enough to wait for me - I was off on another low floor a/c bus bound for Guruvayur.

Am on board the bus as I punch in this post of mine.

Tailpiece.

It's gonna be an early morning tomorrow as Lekha and I are poised to attend Sitharaman's daughter's wedding in the outskirts of Thrissur!
