Vostok 2022 and SCO drill.

Later this month, India is gonna attend the Vostok 2022 military exercises in Russia where the People's Liberation Army of China is also taking part.

China has confirmed that their troops will take part in the Vostok 2022 military exercises. India's 75-member contingent is ready and once the dates are confirmed they, too, head for Vladivostok.

The Vostok exercises are due to start at the end of the month (tentatively between 30 Aug and 05 Sep) and will include Belarus, Mongolia and Tajikistan

India took part in the Zapad drills in Russia, which included 17 countries, including China and Pakistan. In Russian, Zapad means "West". It was a military exercise conducted on Russia's western borders to showcase their strategic capabilities and practice operational maneuvers. The Vostok 2022 exercise will be held under the command of the chief of Russia's general staff, Valery Gerasimov, at 13 training grounds of the Eastern Military District.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has confirmed that it will attend the international counter-terrorism exercises in India, around October, under the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). Those exercises are likely to be held in Manesar, Haryana. These exercises are under the ambit of SCO RATS (Regional Anti Terrorism Structure). India is chairman SCO RATS, this year.

My take

While there are tremendous opportunities while operating with the militaries of other nations, we must never lower our guard against China and Pakistan.

Tailpiece.

Got up at 6, the chores and was ready by a quarter to 10.

To the town to fix up a few pending things. The Chevy's air conditioner's problem has, now, been experienced by the driver who was supposedly driving to The Quarterdeck from the service station. The return of the Chevy is gonna be delayed till the problem is licked.

Roy comes and checks distilled water levels in the inverter and the battery of the external solar light. He also did up a tap in the kitchen that had worked out loose.
