A sad end.

All five on Titan sub dead after 'catastrophic implosion'

The five people aboard a missing submersible that was lost during a voyage to the Titanic are dead after the vessel suffered 'catastrophic implosion' according to the US oast Guard and the company that owns the vessel. The US Coast Guard has confirmed that parts of the Titan were found approximately 1,600 ft from the bow of the Titanic wreck.

The debris discovered was consistent with a 'catastrophic implosion'.

"These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world's oceans", the OceanGate Expedition said in a statement.

An unmanned deep-sea robot deployed from a Canadian ship discovered a "debris field" near where the century-old wreck is located, 21/2 miles below the surface, the US Coast Guard had said.

The five people, who lost their lives, are :-

* British billionaire and explorer, Hamish Harding (58)
* Pakistan-born business magnate, Shahzada Dawood (48)
* His son, Suleman (19) - both father and son are British citizens.
* French oceanographer and Titanic expert, Paul-Henri Nargeolet (77)
* American founder and CEO of OceanGate, Stockton Rush (61). He was piloting the submersible.

Om Shanti! Sadgati.

Tailpiece.

Got up a trifle before 6, the chores and was ready by a quarter to 10. Reached the Government Thalavoor UPS on the dot.

It was a question-and-answer session that I'd initiated for the students and the teachers and there were many questions from the little ones. The students then put up a variety entertainment program based on Vaayana and Vaayana Dinam which was very nice. Had the students' lunch too.

A quiet evening as Lekha had initiated the packing to make an early morning start to Guruvayur tomorrow.
