PN Panicker's 114th birthday celebrations.

Got up at 4, washed up and said my prayers before turning off to sleep for another 20'. Got up at 5, the chores and was ready by a quarter past 7. Had driven the small car to the Poojappura traffic circle and Aniyan and Chambu were there with me.

Reached the 'akshara guru sannidhi', at Poojappura, by a quarter to 8. There was a crowd of about fifty people including our friends and relatives. Thampan sir was the chief guest and he led us in offering floral tributes and saying prayers. Padmakumar, Rema, Mini and Lekha had fetched up by a 10' to 10. On completion, we went over to the Govt LPS at Valiyasala. where the Chief Secretary to the govt of Kerala led the talk. Was a nice program!

He'd presented the reading corner along with books. And we felt nice.

Sudha ma'am of our office had sponsored a vegetarian sadya for all of us. And wow, it was fabulous.

CN Snehalatha gave us a 'kathaprasangam' which was nice. It was at a half past 3.

The evening's public meeting with the chief minister and three of his ministers went off well

Back at Maman's place by a half past 9. A yakkitiyakking evening thereafter.
