This year a total 485.3 tons of flowers, cultivated on 267.4 hectares of land are entering the market for sale. Marigold, with its orange and yellow varieties, is the flower being cultivated on a large scale.
Flowers imported from Tamil Nadu
Marigold, vadamalli, arali, rose, semanthi, tulsi, small rose, and thechi are the flowers in demand for making floral carpets. Around 6-10 tons of the flowers are arriving in Kerala every day.
