The Felicitation.

Had got up a trifle late by my usual standards, went through the chores and was ready to go to the Foundation by 9. Made out my points for the proposed 'show cause notice' based on the letter received from M/s Sarma associates. Maman, finally, did join me and we'd made out a two page letter, handed it over to Sekhar to give its final shape on the computer.

And we set off for the Professor P Krishna Pillai Foundation auditorium for the felicitation function. It was a well conducted function where the minister for local self government, KT Jaleel was the chief guest. The experiences, observations and the recommendations have been brought out in a small, tidy booklet by the Foundation. Our two main observations have been taken note of by the minister viz.:-

   (a) the e-governance aspect will be made effective.
   (b) supermarkets will be set up, all across the state, so that the Kudumbashree products get a wide
market where the sales factor will be taken care. It will have a range of quality products.

It was nice to see the yatra team yet again, made it a point to shake hands with each and the Janamaiythree police team put up their street play, yet again, to a thundering applause by the audience. Earlier, the minister had distributed mementos for all of us, participants, while receiving one for being supportive of our efforts, right from the start. The lunch at the end of the function was nice.

On returning to the Foundation, Maman and I had fine tuned the 'show cause notice' and its fair copy was signed and put into the 'out' tray. Meanwhile, I came across two young, lady chartered accountants - Induja and Lakshmi - auditing the JSS, Kollam's accounts. Both were from poor families, the former's father was a spray painter in a construction firm while the latter's was a plumber. It was a treat to see the both of them at work and I told them to go with a tooth comb, through my organisation's accounts, and bring out the errors/deviations to facilitate corrections and to follow the right procedures.

By 5, I'd taken leave of Maman and all the members of the staff and Manu took me to the railway station to board the Thiruvananthapuram Intercity Express that left at 1730 hrs. I could browse my mail and reply quite a few of them during the journey.

Tailpiece.

Today was Radhan chettan's 16th day ceremony. Had told Sathi chechi the day before about my journey to Thiruvananthapuram. Lekha must have participated as planned.
