Hanging solar fences.

To prevent wild elephants straying into the railway tracks in the Kanjikode-Walayar-Madukkarai section, hanging solar fences were erected and commissioned at the Walayar-Ettimadai section.

A total of 45 7W capacity stand alone solar lights were installed in three sections. Two underpasses were also constructed in A-line between Ettimadai and Madukkarai at a cost of 7.49 crores for the safe passage of wild elephants.

At Kannur station, 70 KWP capacity roof-top solar power plants have been erected and will be commissioned shortly. At present, the division has an installed capacity of 490 KWP of solar plants with an annual solar energy generation of 5,39,711 units.

The electrification of the Shoranur-Nilambur section is in progress and 70 km of track electrification is expected to be completed by December.

My take

It's great to note that our development initiatives take the safety of the wild animals into consideration!

Tailpiece.

Got up a half hour before my usual time, the chores and was ready by 10.

The maid had reported for work and Ramesh-Gokul combination carried out the clearing of the courtyard and the backyard along with the disposal of the wet and dry waste.

Today is the last day of of the Malayalam month of Karkkidakam and Lekha has finished the Ramayanam recital.

Lekha and the maid had gone across to the ration issue stand to collect our monthly dues. Aswathy has been given 10 kg of rice.

The Eureka Forbes rep had also dropped by to carry out the repairs to our Aquaguard.
