Got up at 4, thanks to Lekha's cellphone alarm. Went through the chores but still overshot our target time of a half past 6. We, finally, kicked off from The Quarterdeck around 7 o' clock. The drive was smooth. Though Chakki, Chhottu and the 'yellow sleek' were there for food, Kittu was nowhere to be seen. He has been showing an abnormality in his behaviour: has he found someone who cares for him more, I wonder?
Shared the breakfast of a combo with Lekha at the Ananda Bhavan and washed it down with a cup of steaming coffee.
Reached Bhima around 11. Lekha could pick up what she wanted. Went to Goodwill Collections to pick up things that Lekha had noted on her slop chit. Back at Panampilli Nagar, drove off in our Chevy towards my parents' place. The autorickshaw driver, Jude, asked for Rs.100/- as fare for our transit from Goodwill Collctions to Panampilli Nagar and made the mistake of asking me as to whether the fare is reasonable and I replied, "If anyone collects fares which is in excess of the actuals, that money will never remain with him". He returned Rs.10/- immediately!
Had lunch at Ripple Land in Alappuzha and tea and a snack from Geethamma's tea shop by the way side, on the Adoor bypass.
Reached Raj Nivas by a quarter to 5. Spent time with my parents, for a while and spoke to them regarding the purpose of my visit. Spoke about a lot many things that were bottled up in me.
Couldn't resurrect the television and so, we chatted through the evening. Dinner consisted of dosas, chutney and sambar.
It was a quiet evening.
