Scorpion stings passenger in Air India flight
A rare incident happened on board a domestic flight from Nagpur to Bombay, last month, the airline said in a statement.
The female passenger was treated by a doctor upon landing at Bombay airport and was subsequently rushed to a hospital. She has since recovered and is out of danger. The arachnid was found by the airline's engineers during a post-landing inspection after which the aircraft's cabin and cargo hold were fumigated.
A preliminary probe concluded that the creature must have made its way into the aircraft through the supplies and the airline has directed its catering team and dry cleaners to check their facilities for bugs. In December last, a snake was found in the cargo hold of an Air India Express plane from Calicut after it landed at the Dubai airport.
