Article 370 of our Constitution.

 1. Citizens have dual citizenship.

 2. National flag is different.

 3. Legislative Assembly's term is 6 yrs whereas it's 5 yrs for the states of India.

 4. It's not a crime to insult India's national flag or the national symbols!

 5. The order of the Supreme Court is not valid in the state.

 6. The Parliament of India makes laws in extremely limited areas in terms of Jammu and Kashmir.

 7. If a Kashmiri woman marries a person of any other state of India, the Kashmiri citizenship to that       woman ends. In contrast, if a Kashmiri woman marries from Pakistan, that person will get the
     citizenship of Jammu and Kashmir.

 8. (a) RTI does not apply.
     (b) RTE is not implemented.
     (c) CAG does not apply.......Indian laws are not applicable.

 9. (a) Sharia law is applicable to women.
     (b) There are no rights to Panchayats.
     (c) Minorities viz. Hindus and Sikhs do not get reservations.

10. Because of this article, the Pakistanis get Indian citizenship for which they only need to marry
a girl from Jammu and Kashmir.

It becomes crystal clear that Jammu and Kashmir's special status on account of this article needs to be reviewed all over again. It can't afford to be vastly different from the other states of India.

Tailpiece.

Got up around 5, shifted to the top floor bedroom as Reshmi and Kripa-shankar had returned from the Mookambika temple. Went through my chores and was ready well in time. Manu fetched up with the car by 10 and my work began at the Foundation. During my stay there, Maman and I had visited the DGP for requisitioning the Jana Maithry Police for the theme based street plays/short dramas during the month long Reading Month celebrations from 19 Jun to 18 Jul.

Finished a host of correspondences inviting people for the Reading Day-Reading Month celebrations.

Had an evening meeting with Pannian sakhavu at his party headquarters to fine tune our programme tomorrow.

A nice evening at Maman's place with ammayi and Chambu.
