India strikes her first medal at Paris Olympics - 2024.

Manu Bhaker had learnt her lessons from the last Olympics and realised that people forget what medal you have won when you lose. At Chateauroux - the shooting range some 250 km away from Paris - during the wet morning yesterday, she lifted the spirits of the Indian shooting team.

She started off slowly but once she hit the target, it was the Bhaker show.

The statistics are staggering too. She finished third with a score of 580 behind Veronika Major (582) and Jin Ye Oh (582) but Manu shot the highest number of inner 10s with 27.

And she became the first Indian woman, in 20 years, to win a medal at Shooting! She won the medal for the 10 m Air Pistol Shooting!!

Great Manu Bhaker! Heartiest congratulations!! You've made us proud!!!

Tailpiece.

Got up at a half past 5, the chores and was ready by a quarter to 10.

A quiet Sunday.
