The results.

The results of the elections to the Karnataka Assembly were out earlier in the day. The Congress won with a clear majority of 136 seats as against the BJP's lowly 67.

The reason for this result :-

   * Anti-incumbency for the BJP
   * Yediyurappa should have been dumped long back
   * Basavaraj Bommai, the CM wasn't effective

May Congress rule the state better and win the hearts of the people.

    * There seems to be a twist for the role of chief ministership between Sidharamaiah and DK Shivakumar.

Anyways, the people of Karnataka has made their preferences clear.

The Prime Minister's efforts seem to have gone in vain. Half his efforts by the local leaders would have gone a long way.

Tailpiece.

Got up at 5, the chores and we left The Quarterdeck for Ernakulam. The meeting at the Chavara Cultural Centre was passe....our technical team briefed the potential teachers. Started at 11 and we left the place by a quarter past 12.

The Kottayam meeting consisted of the young trainers of our literacy program.

Attended Joseph-Mariamma's engagement at the St Antony's church at Aanakkallu on the KK Road. it was a cute function. The kallappam, beef ularthiyathu and pork mappaas were out of this world. Ate myself silly.

Settled down for the night at Ryan's Lodge near Changanasserry private bus stand.
