Famous foods of India.

I'm gonna serialise the famous foods of each Indian state. I seriously believe that this will help us understand each and every state and its people better. It's gonna be a bit of a long journey but definitely, worthwhile and I shall go alphabetically.

1. Andhra Pradesh

You will find many varieties and diversity in Andhra Pradesh food. It has a rich cultural heritage. Being a city of nawabs, the influence of royal cuisine can easily be seen in the dishes. The food includes rice, vegetables, cereals, fish and meat and is famous for its spicy and tangy flavour.

Andhra Pradesh cuisine could be divided into three types viz., Telangana Cuisine, Rayalaseema Cuisine and Coastal Andhra Cuisine. While Rice is the staple food, Ragi is also popular.

2. Arunachal Pradesh

The traditional food of Arunachal Pradesh has an influence on the tribal cuisine. The staple food of the state includes rice, pork, fish, meat and local green vegetables. Apong is a popular local beer of the state that is made of rice. Bamboo shoots are one of the main ingredients of any recipe.

3. Assam

Assam food includes hills and plains cuisine styles. Assamese cuisine includes rice, meat, pork, duck, fish and vegetables etc. Silkworm Pupae is a unique and distinct dish. Fermented and dried food is also part of the local recipe. The traditional food has influence from Bengali, Tibetan and Nepali cuisines.

Got up a trifle after 6, the chores and was ready by a quarter to 10. After Lekha had finished preparing lunch, we'd gone to town to replace handles of pans/utensils, buy our fruit basket and pick up grocery and vegetables from the department store.
