The Reading Day 2024.

Had got up around 4, recited my prayers and turned off to sleep yet again. Got up at a half past 5, went about my chores and was ready by a quarter to 8.

We’re off to Poojappura soon after and was at Muthachhan’s statue by 8. The floral offerings were led by Pannian Raveendran with the family joining in.

Work at the Foundation regarding the inaugural program today, calls from our district co-ordinators reporting the activities in their respective areas of influence.

We left for the St Joseph’s School by a quarter past 2. Started about 15’ late. The chief minister came soon after but the education minister and the finance minister did not fetch up.

The program went off well. Padmakumar, Rema, Mini and Lekha came together and joined us for lunch at the Foundation, left soon after.

 

We were beside Muthachchan’s statue by a quarter past 4 and kicked off the month-long “sarga saayaahnam” with Professor Udayakala, HoD Malayalam of the All Saints College, delivering an informative and interesting lecture on “Women Empowerment and literature”. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Then Maman and I’d gone across to the Peyad Grandhasala for an interaction with them. It was a nice exchange of ideas.

Went across to the myG showroom, at Panavila junction, to pick up a charger for my cellphone. My original charger was in Lekha’s handbag which I’d h/o at the morning’s inaugural.

A comparatively early evening!
