Today's Lekha's birthday by the Malayalam calendar.
The day began at 4, rang up the autorickshaw boy, Sukesan but to no avail. Recited my prayers and woke up Lekha at a half past 4. The chores and was ready by a quarter past 5, Sukesan fetched up and off we went to the railway station.
The train left Guruvayur on time and maintained its timing throughout, so much so that I reached Kollam by a half past 11. To my utter horror, I found that the old air-conditioned waiting room had been ripped apart and an ordinary waiting room now awaits us. And our government was to encourage tourism!
Gopu had come by about 2, he went to the bank to verify and returned finally by a quarter past 3. We walked toward the Savithri Hall of the Kollam Public Library. The meeting was steered with 12 members and the core team was formed. The landmarks of the Vaayana Maasaacharanam were spelt out for the team.
Left for the railway station by 6. The train was on time. The boredom of journey was totally broken when I’d befriended Annaporani, the Director Finance of the Kochi Metro. She was chirpy and good company..
By midnight the Thiruvananthapuram - Guruvayur Intercity was on its last lap from Thrissur to Guruvayur.
